I have 200 plus images from a model shoot that are flawed. I just sent my G2 in because I get banding and a white line showing up in my images from a CCD that is going bad. A smashed up camera often works much better than a shiny new looking one. Cracks, dents, no paint left-bare metal showing.only twice did a dent affect operation of a minor function on the camera. I own over twenty cameras- some pristine, some absolute cosmetic wrecks.
But maybe you should check your images for banding, just in case. If you don't want to send your camera in, smear a drop of two ton epoxy on it. If it's endemic to the G2 so what? Are your pictures flawed? No? Good. White line issue that others discovered last month and I confiemed in my camera last week, which greatly affects picture quality, in my case even at ISO 50 has only about three threads with about twenty max messages? Why are there seven or eight threads on the crack issue, maybe 200+ messages about this cosmetic manufacturing defect, and the banding
